Terms and your right to cancel
Last updated 17 September 2026
These are the terms for locksmith work we do at your home or business. The locksmith will also give you the important parts of this in writing at the door, before any work starts, and you'll get a copy by text or email.
Who you're dealing with
LockDash is a trading name of LOCKDASH - LOCKSMITHS LONDON 24HRS LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 17497826. Registered office: 124-128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.
Email contact@londonlocksmith24.co.uk, phone 020 4634 1952. The locksmiths we send are insured tradespeople working with us; the contract for the work is with LOCKDASH - LOCKSMITHS LONDON 24HRS LTD (trading as LockDash).
Prices
- The prices on our site are starting prices. The technician checks the job on site and confirms the final price with you before any work starts; nothing is charged without your agreement.
- On the phone we give you a price range and explain what decides where in the range your job falls. This is not the final price, because we can't see the lock.
- At the door, before any work starts, the locksmith shows you the exact price for the job you asked for. You agree to it on their screen. That figure is the price you pay unless you ask for something extra, in which case the extra is priced and agreed the same way before it's done.
- If we can't open the door or fix the lock, you pay nothing. There is no charge for the visit or for looking.
- Parts we fit are listed on the receipt with their price. We don't charge extra for paying by card.
Your right to cancel
Because the work is done at your home, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you a 14-day right to cancel, with some exceptions that matter here. Plainly:
- Urgent work you asked us to come out for (for example opening the door you're locked out of, or securing the property after a break-in) is not covered by the 14-day right, and neither are the replacement parts that were needed to do it. That's the exemption in the regulations for urgent repairs, and it's why we can start straight away.
- Anything else done on the same visit (an extra lock, an upgrade, a second door) is covered by the 14-day right. If you want that work started immediately, the locksmith will ask you to confirm on their screen that you're asking for it to begin within the 14 days and that once it's finished you lose the right to cancel it. If you cancel before it's finished, you pay a fair amount for what's been done.
- To cancel, tell us by phone, text or email within 14 days of the work being agreed. You can use the cancellation form at the bottom of this page, but you don't have to.
Guarantee
Our work is guaranteed for 12 months, and so are the locks we fit. If a lock we fitted fails in normal use within that time, we come back and put it right at no charge. The guarantee doesn't cover damage, misuse, or a lock you asked us to fit against our advice.
Payment
Payment is due when the work is finished, by card on the locksmith's phone. You'll be emailed a receipt straight away. Cash is accepted; you'll still get a receipt.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. Call or email and we'll deal with it within two working days. Our work must be done with reasonable care and skill; if it wasn't, you're entitled under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to have it done again or to a price reduction. Nothing here limits your legal rights. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
