What we get called for
How it works
Four steps, no surprises
-
You call
Tell Alisha what has happened and your postcode. For a price question, you can ask for a colleague to review your request before booking.
-
We give you a price range and a time
On the same call. The low end is a latch we can slip open; the high end is a lock that has to be drilled and replaced. We tell you which one yours is likely to be.
-
Your locksmith is on the way
Usually with you in 10–15 minutes; the exact time is confirmed when a locksmith accepts. If traffic holds them up, you hear it from us first.
-
Price confirmed, then the work
The locksmith looks at the lock and shows you the exact price on their phone. You tap to agree. Nothing is touched before that. You pay by card when it's done and the receipt is emailed to you.

Why we confirm the price first
The £49 phone call is the oldest trick in this trade
You have probably read about it. A locksmith quotes £49 on the phone, drills a lock that could have been picked open in a minute, and hands over a bill for £300. Trading Standards and the BBC have both covered it. It works because you are standing on the pavement with no choice.
We do it the other way round. You hear a real price range before anyone sets off. The locksmith tries to open the door without damage first. The exact figure goes on their screen and you agree to it before a tool comes out of the bag. Say no, and you owe nothing.
- A real range on the phoneNot a number designed to get us to your door.
- Non-destructive entry attempted firstDrilling is the last resort, and we tell you before we do it.
- You approve the exact price on screenBefore any work starts. It is the price you pay.
- No call-out feeIf we cannot open it or fix it, there is nothing to pay.

What people ask on the phone
If yours isn't here, call and ask. The people who answer know the work.
How fast can you get here?
Usually 10–15 minutes. Call with your postcode; you get the exact time once a locksmith accepts your request, and it depends on location and traffic.
Why can't you give me the exact price on the phone?
Because we can't see the lock. Some open in two minutes; others have to be drilled and replaced. We would rather give you a starting price now and the exact figure at your door than a low number that changes once you have no choice.
Will you damage my door?
We try to open it without damage first, and most doors open that way. Drilling is the last resort, we tell you before we do it, and it is priced separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
How do I pay?
By card at the door, on the locksmith's phone, and the receipt is emailed to you straight away. Cash is fine too. We don't add anything for paying by card.
What if you can't open it?
Then you don't pay. That is what no call-out fee means: no charge for the journey, and no charge for having a look.
Are the locksmiths insured?
Yes, every locksmith we send carries public liability insurance, and the work and the locks we fit are guaranteed for 12 months.
Do you fit locks my insurer will accept?
Yes. Most home insurance policies ask for a British Standard lock (BS3621) on the front door. Tell us on the call and the locksmith will bring one.
