Privacy and call recording
Last updated 17 September 2026
This page explains what we do with your details when you call, message or book us. It's written to be read, not filed. If anything is unclear, ask us.
Who we are
LockDash is a trading name of LOCKDASH - LOCKSMITHS LONDON 24HRS LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 17497826. Registered office: 124-128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.
We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at contact@londonlocksmith24.co.uk or on 020 4634 1952.
Calls are recorded
Calls to and from our number are recorded and you hear a short notice at the start. We record them so we can confirm what was agreed, especially the price range you were given, and to train the people who answer. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the service properly and being able to show what was said if there's a dispute.
Recordings are kept for six months, then deleted. If a job is disputed or a card payment is challenged, we keep the recording for that job until the matter is closed.
What we collect and why
- Your name, phone number and the address of the job. To arrange the locksmith visit and contact you about the job. Basis: performing the contract with you.
- What's wrong and any photos you send us through a channel confirmed by our team. To give you an accurate price range and bring the right parts. Basis: performing the contract.
- The price agreed at the door, your acceptance of it, before-and-after photos of the lock, and the receipt. To do the work you asked for, to give you a proper record, and to defend a card dispute if one arises. Basis: contract and legitimate interest.
- Payment card details are handled by our card processor on the locksmith's phone. We never see or store your full card number.
- How you found us (for example that you arrived from a Google search, and which advert). To know which advertising works. Optional website measurement uses Google advertising cookies, Google Analytics (which pages are visited, for how long, on what kind of device) and a tracking phone number, only if you allow it.
- Visits to this website, without cookies. Our own server notes each page you open and each tap on our phone number: the page, the site or advert you came from, the kind of device and browser, your network provider and approximate area (from your IP address), and the IP address itself. Nothing is stored on your device. To know how many people find us through our adverts and to spot fake or automated traffic. Basis: our legitimate interest in running and measuring the website. Kept for 90 days.
Who sees it
- The locksmith we send you: your name, phone number, address, the problem and any photos.
- Our dispatch team, who answer the phone and manage the job. They work for a company we own outside the UK, in Romania, under a written contract that requires them to handle your data only on our instructions. Romania is covered by the UK's adequacy regulations, so no extra safeguards are needed for this.
- The companies that provide our phone system, job management software, text messaging and card payments. Each has a contract with us covering your data.
- Google, only for the optional advertising measurement and website statistics described above. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires it (for example a court order) or you ask us to.
We don't sell your details and we don't use them for marketing you didn't ask for.
How long we keep it
- Job records (name, address, what was done, price, receipt, photos): six years, because that's how long we may need them for tax and for any claim under the contract.
- Call recordings: six months, as above.
- WhatsApp messages: deleted from our devices within 30 days of the job closing.
- Enquiries that don't become a job: 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, and object to our use of it. Email contact@londonlocksmith24.co.uk and we'll reply within a month. If you're not happy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies. If you accept, Google sets cookies so that a call after a Google advert can be counted as coming from that advert, and so that Google Analytics can count visits to our pages. Refusing it doesn't change anything about the service you get. You can change this choice using Advertising preferences in the footer. We keep the choice in your browser for up to six months.
